Frenchman wins biggest jackpot ever in European lottery history

The Euromillions super jackpot has hit France: someone won €220 million on Friday night. Thirteen players won the handsome sum of 33,931.70 euros and 97 others won 1,416.40 euros on Friday.

This is said to be the biggest jackpot in the history of the European lottery since its creation in 2004. The French lucky person had the winning number combination of 21, 26, 31, 34 and 49 with the stars 2 and 5. The winner or winneress now has sixty days to register with the lottery company.

Last week, no one ticked the five right numbers on the Euromillions ticket. No winner in grade 1 means that the €220 million jackpot, which cannot get any higher for now due to European lottery rules, will be rolled over to the next draw.

The last super jackpot was won in Switzerland on 21 February 2021. The value of that jackpot was slightly lower, €210 million.
