How does EuroMillions work in Belgium?
EuroMillions is offered in Belgium by the Belgian National Lottery. Belgian players participate in the same main draw as players in the other official EuroMillions countries. A standard combination consists of five main numbers from 1 to 50 and two Lucky Stars from 1 to 12. Matching all five numbers and both Lucky Stars wins the jackpot.
A standard EuroMillions combination in Belgium costs €2.50. Draws are held every Tuesday and Friday, giving players two opportunities each week to win one of the 13 regular prize categories. The jackpot starts at €17 million and can increase when no ticket matches all seven winning numbers. Smaller prizes can already be won without matching all five numbers and both Lucky Stars.
Choosing your EuroMillions numbers
Players can choose their own numbers or use a randomly generated selection. If you are new to the game, read our guide to playing EuroMillions . You can also compare Belgium with the other participating EuroMillions countries .

What is My Bonus in Belgium?
My Bonus is an additional lottery feature created specifically for Belgian EuroMillions players. Every €2.50 EuroMillions combination automatically receives a My Bonus code. Players do not need to choose this code or pay separately for it. It is linked directly to the EuroMillions entry and gives the ticket another opportunity to win.
Under the current standard prize structure, 300 Belgian players win €500 through My Bonus every week. There are 100 €500 winners connected to Tuesday’s draw and 200 connected to Friday’s draw. In addition, 3,000 players win €50 each week: 1,000 on Tuesday and 2,000 on Friday. The Belgian National Lottery can also run special My Bonus promotions at different times during the year.
Can My Bonus win if the EuroMillions numbers lose?
Yes. My Bonus is checked separately from the normal EuroMillions numbers. This means a ticket can fail to win one of the regular EuroMillions prize categories but still have a winning My Bonus code.
Biggest EuroMillions winners in Belgium
Belgium may be a relatively small EuroMillions country, but it has produced several enormous jackpot winners. The Belgian record was broken on 9 June 2026 when a ticket won €174,984,088. The winning combination was 2, 7, 23, 44 and 46, with Lucky Stars 3 and 5. It overtook the previous Belgian record of €168,085,323 from October 2016.

What are the EuroMillions odds in Belgium?
Belgian players have exactly the same odds in the main EuroMillions draw as players in the other participating countries. The chance of matching all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars is 1 in 139,838,160. However, there are 13 regular prize categories, so a ticket does not need to match all seven numbers to win something.

Do you pay tax on EuroMillions winnings in Belgium?
EuroMillions winnings paid by the Belgian National Lottery are tax-free for the winner in Belgium. This means there is no separate Belgian lottery tax deducted from the prize itself. If, for example, a player wins a €100 million jackpot, the lottery prize is not reduced by an income tax charged directly on that winning amount.
For lottery winnings of €10,000 or more, the Belgian National Lottery automatically provides a certificate confirming that the money was won through one of its games. This can be useful when a bank or another financial institution needs to establish where a large amount of money came from.
Can tax apply after you receive the prize?
Yes. The original lottery prize remains tax-free, but that does not mean everything done with the money will remain free from tax. If the winner saves or invests the prize, income produced by the money — such as taxable interest — may be subject to normal Belgian tax rules. Large winners should therefore consider professional financial and tax advice before investing or transferring substantial amounts.
National Lottery winnings are tax-exempt.
A winnings certificate is issued automatically.
Income generated with the money may be taxable.
Tax rules differ between EuroMillions countries. See our guide to EuroMillions taxes in Europe for a country-by-country comparison.
